About Pickett Fences
Pickett Fences Senior Services, Inc. (Pickett Fences) is a 501 c (3) nonprofit organization founded in 2012. Pickett Fences’ mission is to strengthen senior services currently provided in the community through education, advocacy, and providing resources that will enhance the quality of life for our senior citizens. We strive to improve the quality of life of seniors by connecting seniors with the services they need to safely remain in their homes. Pickett Fences’ main priority is to meet the needs of our growing elder population.
Pickett Fences services as the Community Liaison for the Dementia Friendly America – Prince George’s project. Pickett Fences collaborates with various organizations within Prince George's County to meet the needs of our growing senior population.
We partner with Department of Family Services - Aging Division, Salvation Army, Pepco, and other agencies to support seniors in Prince George’s County. We also collaborate with other agencies such as Department of Social Services, and other nonprofits in the community when funds are available.
We are the only nonprofit in Prince George’s County that is solely dedicated to providing the type of services we offer for seniors.
Pickett Fences has developed programs and services that are vital to our growing senior population that include the following:

- Case Management
- Financial Assistance
- Education and Outreach (Financial literacy, Safety, Dementia, Elder Abuse, etc.)
- De-cluttering
- Caregiver Support Groups (Meet the 4th Thursday of each month)*
- Intergenerational Electronic Devices Training
- Dementia Forums and Conferences
- Virtual and Telephone education programming
